DNA Pixelator Screens – Government of Fujairah at GITEX 2022
The DNA Pixelator installation was the visual centrepiece of the Government of Fujairah stand at GITEX 2022 in Dubai. The brief was to build a light surface that belonged to the stand rather than sitting inside it, so the display was engineered from custom triangular LED tiles in several different sizes, following the geometry of the stand. Those tiles were addressed as one continuous pixel-mapped surface, which allowed the light to move through the architecture in a way a standard rectangular screen never could.
Government of Fujairah - GITEX 22 - DubaiDNA Pixelator Screens Custom made triangle shape LED tiles with different sizes were programmed to show different light scenarios that immerge with stand design and sync with the theme video.

The Challenge & Objective
GITEX is the most competitive technology showcase in the region, and a government pavilion has to communicate authority and ambition without looking like a screen in a box. The specific problems on this stand were structural and creative at the same time:
- Match the stand, not fight it. The display had to be generated from the stand's own lines and angles, so off-the-shelf rectangular panels were never going to work.
- Build a real surface from triangles. Because the tiles were triangular and of different sizes, the design had to treat them as a single non-uniform pixel canvas rather than as separate signs.
- Move the light, not just the image. Different light scenarios were needed so the wall could change character through the day instead of showing one static loop.
- Stay in sync with the show. The tiles had to run in time with the stand's theme video so the room read as one designed environment.
- Survive a full trade show run. The installation had to run reliably for the whole exhibition, including repeated build and strike cycles around a busy show floor.
Our Solution
We treated the LED wall as a construction material rather than a display product. The stand design was taken as the source geometry, and the tiles were manufactured to fit it.
Custom triangular LED tiles in multiple sizes
Instead of specifying a screen and asking the stand to work around it, we specified the light first. Triangular tiles were produced in more than one size so the wall could step in and out of plane and follow the stand's silhouette, with the tile edges reading as an intentional pattern in their own right. Because the pieces were made to fit, the installation looks built rather than installed.
One continuous pixel-mapped canvas
Every tile — regardless of its size or orientation — was treated as part of a single mapped surface. The content was authored against the real tile layout, so light could flow across the wall continuously and follow the geometry of the architecture. This is the part that makes a custom LED build different from a standard one: the pixel map is the design.
Programmed light scenarios
Rather than a single loop, the wall carried a set of programmed light scenarios that the show team could select during the day. That allowed the stand to shift between a calm, formal state for meetings, a brighter state for walk-by traffic, and a full-motion state for the busiest periods — one physical wall, several behaviours.
Synchronised with the stand's theme video
The pixel-mapped tiles and the stand's video content were driven from the same playback and control layer, so the two moved together. Visitors standing at the entrance read the stand as a single composition instead of as a screen with a video playing next to it.
Technology & Implementation
This was a custom display build with exhibition-grade control, executed to the timelines that a trade show demands.
Custom LED tile manufacturing and assembly
The tiles were fabricated to size and assembled into a rigid, serviceable array that could be mounted within the stand structure. Each tile was individually addressed, which is what allowed different sizes to sit in the same frame without breaking the image. Our [exhibition stand technology](/exhibition-companies-in-dubai/) team handled the structural side of the build alongside the content team.
Pixel mapping and media playback
A pixel map was built from the physical tile layout, and all content was authored specifically for that map. Scenarios were pre-compiled and stored, so switching between them on the show floor was a single selection rather than an on-the-spot adjustment. The same media pipeline is used across our [digital signage](/digital-signage-expert-dubai/) projects in the UAE.
Control, redundancy and show-day operation
Playback and control were set up for continuous show-floor running, with the content pre-loaded and verified before the exhibition opened. The wall was operated on a programmed schedule that the stand team could manage without technical support, which kept the technical crew free for the moments that actually needed them.
Build, install and de-rig in Dubai
The custom array was installed and aligned on site at Dubai World Trade Centre, calibrated so the geometry of the stand and the mapping stayed consistent across the whole wall. Because the tiles were pre-assembled into modules, de-rig at the end of the show was as fast as the install.
Results & Impact
The wall did the job a standard display could not: it made the stand itself luminous.
- The installation gave the stand a light signature that was visible from across the aisle, which is where most trade show decisions are actually made.
- Multiple programmed scenarios let the pavilion present differently across the day without changing hardware.
- Content and architecture moved together, so the pavilion read as a single designed environment rather than a booth with screens in it.
- The custom tile approach became a repeatable pattern for us on subsequent exhibition builds in the UAE.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about this Government of Fujairah project and how Ultratec4D delivers similar event technology.
What are custom triangular LED tiles?
They are individually manufactured LED panels built in triangular or other non-standard shapes, often in several sizes, so a display can follow custom architecture instead of forcing it into a rectangle. When they are addressed as one mapped surface, content flows across the whole wall continuously — which is what allowed the Fujairah pavilion's light to merge with its stand design.
Why not use a standard LED wall for an exhibition stand?
Standard rectangular panels force the stand design to compromise. In this project the client wanted the light to follow the angles of the pavilion, so the tiles were generated from the stand geometry and manufactured to fit. A custom array also reads as a deliberate design decision rather than a rented screen, which matters more than usual at a show like GITEX.
How is a non-rectangular LED wall programmed?
Every tile is individually addressed, so the wall is treated as a single non-uniform pixel canvas. We build a pixel map from the physical tile layout and author content specifically for that map, which is why content behaves correctly across different tile sizes and orientations. Scenarios are then pre-compiled so the show team can switch them with a single selection.
Can you build custom LED displays for our exhibition stand?
Yes. Custom LED fabrication, pixel mapping and stand integration are core parts of our exhibition service in Dubai and across the UAE. Share your stand drawings or 3D renders and we will tell you what is buildable within your budget and build window.
Building a stand that needs light to be part of the architecture?
Send us your stand design, render or footprint. We will come back with a custom LED concept, a fabrication route and a build schedule that fits your exhibition calendar.
